Happy Birthday Dad

Dad started his day having breakfast at the Country Diner with two of his grandsons, Kevin and Jody. We showed up and joined them as Steve and I both had work share today. We left from there to go prepare a birthday surprize with his other "family" the nurses and workers at Winsor Place. Steve an I brought cake, cupcakes and balloons which we left on the south desk along with some big balloons. We tried to sneak out, but Dad saw us leaving. Dad always makes a big deal out of Mom's birthday, we thought it was time for him to have some of the attention. Dad can be very quiet about his own milestones. The nurses managed to suprize him and they were delighted to share his cake and balloons.

Later in the afternoon, a limosine comes cruising through Colony. Dad had won the grandprize gift basket at the memory walk.
It included among other things, a limo ride and a $40 gift certificate to Madison Ave Stake and Chops. We got into the limo and motored to Iola. We arrived there, and were soon met by Betty and Doyle. We step into the restaurant, and it was nice. The food was all good, and as you can see the table was full. After the meal and return limo ride home, there was birthday cake of course. We all sang happy birthday to Dad and he did have enough breath to blow out the candle. :) The cake was cut and fellowship shared. I think we all had a good time, ans I am sure it made Dad's birthday even more special.
We missed the one's that couldn't make it, but totally understand.

Sue think that you were writing from your view. Jody and Kevin are grandsons. Couldn't help but share. Looks like you all had a great night. I wanted to go to sleep by 7:00 am but not the grandbabies.
